Time to get back to hunting! For this one, the petitioner is nowhere to be found and you need to talk to Relj, the cynical Viera, to start the hunt.
Fafnir will only appear during a snowstorm, talking to Relj will trigger one, but if you pass through the Frozen Brook area, the storm will dissipate and you will need to trigger a new one, so instead, it's best to take the longer way to the West, which I show.
Once you arrive to the smaller part of Silverflow's End, you'll quickly see the imposing Mark.
And Fafnir's power fits his stature, it also has over a million HP, making this battle potentially very long.
Your first action should be to Dispel its multiple buffs, after that, you should start using Wither to lower its Physical Attack as his most used attacks are Physical in nature, lowering his Defense with Expose can also be useful since the battle will likely take a while. If you have Addle, you can use that to lower the damage from its Shock Magick as well. Also use Shear if you're going to exploit Fafnir's weakness to Lightning with Magick, a Reflect-Thudaga strategy can deal a lot of damage to the creature.
The attack you'll likely see the most is its White Breath, an Ice-elemental AoE Physical Attack that can cause Stop on your character, so have some Chronos Tears ready.
Fafnir can also cast Silencega and Sleepga, avoid having your whole party put to Sleep or the battle could take a really bad turn.
Once the beast is slain, you'll get the Ring of the Light, bring that back to Relj to see this hunt's conclusion and bring some hope back to Bur-Omisace, I've shown some of the new dialogue you get, just for the warm fuzzy feelings. :)
