Sazh and Vanille fight against two huge monsters. Then they both wait to catch a boat to Nautilus in the pouring rain. Vanille asks Sazh if he hates Gran Pulse, to which he replies that he did not use to.

He claims he had always been suspicious of the Sanctum's motives, until he got sucked into their stories about Pulse. Vanille grows steadily quiet after hearing Sazh's story.
