Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn Breaking Brick Mountains
This is the Dragon Quest X event and it is live from September 14th 2014 until September 23rd at 7:59 am PDT. So lots of time for it!
This event is very simple and friendly even towards low level characters! Level 7 being the requirement for the quest Breaking Brick Mountains and you can choose a low level location as well. I went to the Lower La Noscea Blind Iron Mines location just to speed things up myself as the Brickmen are way easier to defeat compared to the higher level versions of the FATE.
So after starting the quest in Ul'dah, Steps of Nald at X:12 Y:8 you get to choose where to go hunting for the FATEs. The locations are:
Central Thanalan, Sil'dih Excavation Site X:17 Y:23
Lower La Noscea, Blind Iron Mines X:27 Y:17
Upper La Noscea, Camp Bronze Lake X:34 Y:24
Central Shroud, Bentbranch Meadows X:23 Y:23
North Shroud, Finders' Bluff X:15 Y:31
So yeah, just complete Brick by Brick and then you'll either have to do Brick by Stone Brick and Brick by Gold. Stone Brick is the easier one and just has you fighting a Stone Brickman. Brick by Gold Brick has you take on both a Stone Brickman and a Gold Brickman but is rarer!
Sadly no special reward for Brick by Gold Break, it's just rarer and more challenging I guess. Upon completion you just go back to the beefy businessman and collect your prize.
The Thug's Mug is interesting lol and classic. Probably better suited for male characters but there were a few females who wore it in Dragon Quest before. The Wind-Up Brickman is a nice little minion, can't beat the classic Dragon Quest Golem design! If only Square would make Dragon Quest Monsters Vs Final Fantasy Monsters...Imagine that.
If you want the King Slime Crown you just go talk to the Lady named Toughie whom is right by him and also wearing a Thug's Mug. Only costs a little bit.
The ending cutscene though wow, that was really good. It's a shame the West doesn't have Dragon Quest X and hasn't had many Dragon Quest games since all of those DS ports/remakes. Is a shame....Good series I personally like 4 and 5 the most out of the Dragon Quests. Can't go wrong with 8 or 9 either. A shame about DS wi-fi being shut down though...
