Best viewed in 720 60 FPS. This is my FIRST time taking on Garuda Extreme Mode so this is more of a playthrough than anything although I knew what I was getting into. My only regret being I didn't try it sooner since now I'm really overgeared.

Also, I've found the Ultima HM is harder and has more real phases than this IMO. This one isn't so bad. She works a lot like Garuda Hard Mode and has some of the same basics applied here too.

Her sister adds Chirada and Suparna return here as well. They need to be tanked separately since they provide buffs to the other if grouped together. Kill Chirada first.

The big difference comes in when the Spiny Plume enters the picture. Don't kill it until Garuda disappears, once she does kill it and avoid/wait for the AoE to detonate, then it'll create a shield that you need to step into to survive Garuda's attack. Also they put a nasty debuff on the targets they hit, when a target reaches three stacks they will explode and wipe the raid. So thus tank swapping is a must.

The phases will repeat and the green whirlwinds from Hard Mode will return but they leave obvious safe spots. The safe spots were marked for us in this video.The safe spots are in the northwest, northeast, southwest, and southeast.

So yeah, we did wipe a few times but this was due to aggro issues with the Adds primarily, not the Plumes. They aggroed onto me, the other Blm and even the White Mage at one point. This was done in the Duty Finder.

So now I'm good to farm this one. It's really one of the easiest Extreme Modes hands down, hence it's one of the first you can take on. If you get lucky you can even score that mount. Supposedly it's also easier to get the Triple Triad card here too. You may as well try to get it from here if you need the mount as well.
