2.57 version of this trial, the Steps of Faith. Not a VG and you might not need one anymore, I mostly did this to see how much easier it was and well.. It left me a little shocked how much easier they've made it, the changes being:
1.Vishap's maximum HP has been reduced.
2.The maximum HP of all enemies that spawn has been reduced.
3.Damage dealt by certain enemies has been reduced.
4.Damage dealt by Vishap's underfoot attack has been reduced.
5.Damage dealt by Bertha cannons upon exploding has been reduced.

Of course you'll still want to plan out the Dragon Killers with your party but chances are you won't need all of them to kill him now. His HP pool is....tiny now in comparison to before. He's awful squishy for a big tough dragon. We didn't even use our level three limit break.

I don't think I was even needed on the second cannon and next time I'll probably just focus all on the boss.

I understand why SE nerfed this trial though, they want players to be able to experience the Expansion and not have them stuck behind this trial. It was sometimes a nightmare in the Duty Finder, so many ragequits even on day one. It wasn't that hard though but it's just sometimes people in the DF don't listen or just give up too easily. In my first clear we succeeded because we rejected the motion to abandon lol.

But now when you beat it...You don't get the sense of overcoming a challenge. New Players will probably never even see the dreaded unskippable failure cutscene now. Won't see the last few phases or hear the music change to the intense version when Vishap is about to reach the end.

My point is I don't like things being to easy. I shun easy mode in games now since when things are too easy it takes away from the fun of it, doesn't prepare you for higher difficulties and some games even mock you with playing on easy too.

However not everyone feels the same way, SE is in a rough situation since it's hard to make both the casual players and hardcore players happy. Can't win em all. I'm not mad since of course there's still challenge to be found in Ex Primals and Coils and the new content we'll see in the expansion most likely.
