Final Fantasy XIV The Lost City of Amdapor
Best viewed in 720 HD 60 FPS. No cutscenes and this is Normal Mode just to be 100% clear.
4:17-Decaying Gourmand. This thing isn't too bad honestly. If you get linked by him he'll eventually he'll eat you! Your party members will then need to attack the Voracious Maw and break you out or you will die in there. Other than that..it's just a nightmare fuel Goobbue, scary looking but not going to cause any wipes ever. Just sometimes in the duty finder people will be careless and not notice the Maw spawning or someone getting eaten and needing saving, it can be frustrating.
9:34-Arioch. Easy. This guy starts with Adds. The tank kills them to get the debuff that will aggro the boss onto them regardless of the aggro table. Don't stand in front of the Adds when they are killed if you are DPS/Healer since you don't want the boss on you. As long as the tank keeps killing the Adds to keep the Scale Flakes up it'll be smooth. If the debuff is allowed to fade the boss will retreat into the skies and can heal up a bit in addition to being invulnerable. Our Tank did amazing here so we had no such concerns.
14:28-Diabolos fight. This one can be nasty but in this video we just did the burn method due to being overgeared.
Typically though you'll want to take note of the eight doors you'll notice, at first they all have their symbols revealed but they eventually disappear. Mark the matching pairs to make it easier. Typically at the beginning one door should be opened. Then when the boss is casting Ruinous Omen wait until about half-way on the cast bar to open a matching door in order to avoid the huge damage from Ruinous Omen! So you need to plan this out basically, talk with your party members to decide who will open doors, have the doors marked, etc.
With item levels as they are now though..It's easily possible to survive one Ruinous Omen, but two might be risky. We just decided to not deal with the doors and only saw him use Ruinous Omen once.
Here's a MUCH better run of the The Lost City of Amdapor Normal Mode in preparation for the new version coming up. There was only like one mishap but it just went so smoothly overall, the tank was making big pulls, people were removing the misery debuff without you having to ask, etc. We also were able to burn bosses down pretty fast since I think we were all here just for the heck of it. This was a speed run in contrast the other videos I've made in this dungeon.
I also celebrated the return of Triple Flare here. It's fun to unleash it again even with the nerfs.
