To unlock Palace of the Dead you must complete the quest
"The House That Death Built" which requires the completion of the MSQ "Into a Copper Hell". It can be picked up in New Gridania from the NPC Nojiro Marujiro(X:12.0 Y:13.1). Level 17 DoW or DoM is also a requirement.

I think i covered most of what there is to say in the video but also..

The experience here isn't bad but it's not as fast as other methods. It is a nice bonus in addition to the rewards you can get here though.

I may have already said this but man seriously it's ridiculous when you get people who want to wipe the party because there are no healers. This can be soloed if you play smart and is definitely possible even without healers if you aren't reckless and use potions to recover from some bad traps/luck. Half the fun of this place is having absurd party combinations but some people don't get that and just give up upon seeing three tanks, one DPS. It's sad some are too set in the ways of the Holy Trinity to adapt.

I myself have beaten the last floor without a healer. Just really gotta play smart and brief any new players about the last boss.

Palace of the Dead is definitely not a failure in my book, it's not perfect but it's a good setup for what they'll do in the future with Challenge Floors and there is some fun to be had. The RNG of upgrades and traps are trolly and can be anti-fun at times when all silver chests explode in your face. At least the the hotfix will add guaranteed upgrades to the last boss on floor 50 supposedly.

Getting to 30/30 does depend on luck. But it's rather fair I'd say to get a 235 weapon though a certain Ex Trial is probably faster and easier for this purpose. You can always utilize the party finder or your FC to get a party who is willing to exit out and restart runs for better upgrades if need be.

Adding more save files might be nice IMO.
