Previously, as part of the "Legacy" quest, the party met Monica in the Prairie Outpost, who told them to head north to meet Cor, the marshal. They also carried out Dave's next dog tag quest, Dust to Dust. Now, it is time to head to the Tomb of the Wise to meet up with Cor.

Starting at the Prairie Outpost, they follow the target marker north to the tombs. Not far from the outpost, they enter the Keycatrich Ruins area.

Past the fence, they must turn left to head up towards the tomb (time 2:09). Look out for annoying Daggerquills. On the plus side, if you need to find a Daggerquill Breast for Takka's first quest, this is a good place to get it.

At the end of the road, they enter the Tomb of the Wise (time 5:08). They finally catch up with Marshal Cor Leonis. One of Noctis's goals is to absorb the power of the past kings of Lucis. This will give him royal arms that he can use in the fight against the Empire. He absorbs the power of the king resting at the Tomb of the Wise. This completes the story quest "Legacy". Each party member earns 400 EXP. Only Noctis can use royal arms. Though they are powerful, they cost HP to wield in battle, and they cannot induce link-strikes. The party acquires the Sword of the Wise, their first royal arm.

Noctis next talks to Cor (time 8:25). Cor suggests that Noctis next visit the ruins at Keycatrich Trench nearby. This begins the next story quest, "The Power of Kings". Cor will join the party briefly as they travel to Keycatrich Trench. Too bad he's temporary. According to Cor, there are thirteen royal arms in total, but the Kingsguard only knows the locations of a few.

For now, the party cannot travel south (time 10:37). I guess the game doesn't want us to use Cor to power through the available hunts.

In the open area to the east, the party will find some imperial soldiers waiting for them.

By some ruins in the south of the area, there is a spot that yields a White Choker (time 13:07).

In some ruins to the north, west of the entrance to the dungeon, there is a spot that yields a Hi-Elixir (time 14:24). Yowza!

There is also a mineral deposit on the ridge west of the dungeon entrance (time 14:44). The party finds Silver and Gold Dust.

Look out for the Magitek Armor, the MA Veles. It is best to begin by warp-striking the turrets at the top with a greatsword equipped. This may break the turret and stun the armor. Also, look out for the Magitek Armor to explode when it is defeated.

In some ruins along the northern wall east of the dungeon entrance, there is a spot that yields a Chrome Bit (time 18:15).

On a table in some rubble to the east, there is a spot for a Hi-Elixir (time 18:34).

Also, the party has reached their target for "Scraps of Mystery II" (time 18:45). It yields Sylvester's Map Piece B. "Scraps of Mystery II" complete!

In the southeast, the party finds a treasure spot that yields a Giant Hairy Horn (time 20:14).

In some nearby ruins, they find a lore entry for "Keycatrich Trench" (time 20:38). It certainly did not fare well during the imperial expansion.

On the ridge just west of the entrance to Keycatrich Trench, the party finds a spot that yields the Bioblaster (time 22:07). This is a Machinery-type weapon that Prompto can equip as a secondary arm. It can poison enemies.

On the ridge directly to the east, there is a spot that yields a Hi-Elixir (time 22:41).

There is some dialogue as the party heads into Keycatrich Trench (time 22:51). Cor leaves the party, but he gives Noctis the Tombkeep's Key, which can unlock the doors to the other tombs throughout the world. Cor is going to keep an eye on the empire.

Next time, the party will explore the Keycatrich Trench in search of the second royal arm.
