We are currently in the postgame. Previously, the party finished each trial in the Wheel of Harma. Now, they will beat down the last two trial boss encounters in Drustan's Labyrinth.
After resuming at the Heliodor Region Campsite, the party spends some time getting everyone pepped up.
When that is done, they Zoom to Drustan's Labyrinth - Trial Isle. They go through the Sage's Trial because that is fairly short and easy to get through without enemy encounters. The Fierce Forest, in particular, has a shortcut that leads directly to the portal to the Hoarder's Keep. The party did miss unlocking the southern door from the central chamber on Floor 1, so they must go the long way around, but they do take the chance to show some sparkly spots they missed on their first run through.
At the end, they meet Drustan in Serenica's Chamber. Drustan pits them against the fourth trial boss encounter. The enemies are Abject Terror and Deepest Despair, who are both references to Indignus. Expect strong physical attacks. Deepest Despair has less HP, so it may help to defeat him first. However, I have read that they have resurrection spells, so watch out. Their blue blast dispels the party's buffs. Mighty Magic Burst will help greatly against them. Omniheal is the spell of choice for healing. The party must defeat these goons in fewer than 50 moves.
The party defeats the trial boss in fewer than 50 moves. Davilas wishes he could change Serena's hairstyle. Drustan gives him the accessory Ring of Changes. This is a costume change ring that Serena can equip to magically change her hairstyle. It also boosts her charm. Drustan's own reward is a Seed of Life.
The party Zooms back to the Heliodor Region to get pepped up again. When this is done, they Zoom to Trial Isle and again go through the Sage's Trial. They quickly get through the Fierce Forest and the Hoarder's Keep. It is a good idea to save before the brutal fifth trial boss.
When they reach Drustan at the end, Drustan pits them against the fifth trial boss encounter, Overweening Pride. This is a super-strong rendition of Jasper Unbound, and he is quite nasty. His flurry of blows is especially strong. He can summon help, but (Mighty) Magic Burst will take them out quickly if Veronica has high MP. If you want to spam Magic Burst, be sure to have plenty of Elfin Elixirs. Omniheal is crucial for healing. The party must defeat him in fewer than 50 moves.
In the end, the party defeats Overweening Pride in fewer than 50 moves. Davilas wishes for Drustan's last reward, a copy of "Ogler's Digest". I blame Rab's influence. In fact, the Ogler's Digest is an accessory for Davilas or Rab. It boosts pep-up speed slightly. When used as an item in battle, it can distract a single enemy. Drustan's consolation prize is a Seed of Magic.
Further, for defeating all the trial bosses, Drustan rewards the party with the recipe book "A Hero's Book of Brilliant Weapons". This contains the recipes for Hypernova Swords, Dynamo Daggers, Galaxarangs, Aurora Staves, Split-Pot Pokers, Über Gringham Whips, Xenlon Claws, and Galaxy Axes. These are more upgrade recipes. With this, the party is finally ready to take on Calasmos.
The party return to the Temple of Tranquility on Trial Isle. They earn a couple of accolades for finishing off the trials. Good stuff.
The party Zooms to the Heliodor Region Campsite to rest and save. Next time, they will confront the game's true final boss, Calasmos.
Thanks for watching!
