Previously, the party did the quest "Scraps of Mystery XIV". Now, they will explore Balouve Mines, one of the game's optional dungeons.
After resuming, they fast-travel to the Balouve Mines parking spot in Leide (time 0:34).
Following the mine cart tracks to the east, they enter Balouve Mines (time 1:54).
Just inside, they find a convenient elevator (time 2:25). When they examine it, the sidequest "Balouve Mines" begins. They must descend into the mines and take out the boss. They take the elevator down.
They get off the elevator at floor B1F, the first stop (time 3:38). There will be a lot of Level 7 Goblins here, and they will roll mine carts at the party.
Between a couple of containers near the elevator stop, they find Iron Shavings (time 4:02).
At the first intersection, the party can turn southeast to find a Rainbow Pendant (time 4:45). This protects its wearer from confusion.
Along the tracks, the party finds a Rusted Bit (time 5:39).
At the southwest end of the tracks on B1F, the party finds a Silver Ore (time 6:53).
Past a fire deposit, the party can go downstairs to floor B2F (time 7:43). They arrive in the southwest section of the floor. By the way, be careful of the large maps in this game; they often are not oriented with north at the top, but they do have a compass showing the directions.
Along the track to the east, they find a Chrome Bit among some junk (time 9:16). The elevator stop is at the southeast end.
The party follows the tracks northwest.
A scene takes place when they reach a bridge over the level below (time 10:49). The dungeon's boss rips Noctis a new one and throws him down to floor B3F to face a host of Goblins. Most unkind.
On the scaffolding in the north of the room, the party finds a Megalixir (time 12:02). Among the rubble below the scaffolding, they find an Elixir (time 12:10).
First, the party goes west through a door.
On the floor between a couple of fans, they find a Mythril Shaft (time 13:38). At the southern dead end to the west, they find a Circlet (time 14:05). This accessory increases its wearer's Magic by 150.
Under Ascension, Noctis picks up his second "Accessory Slot" expansion for 333 AP. This gives him a third accessory slot to use. The Ribbon is a great thing to keep on full-time.
The party descends the nearby ladder to floor B4F (time 15:24). Through the door to the southwest, they find an ice deposit and a couple of paths.
Along the eastern path, they find an Elixir north of a bridge (time 17:21).
A ways past the bridge, they find a Gold Ore (time 17:52).
The floor's elevator stop is at the southeast end of the paths. Behind the elevator, the party finds another Friendship Band (time 19:26).
To the northwest, the party attempts to go through the door. However, some clever Goblins complicate matters. Jerks.
The party boards the elevator (time 21:58). After a brief ride up, they disembark on floor B3F (time 22:28).
A short distance northwest of the elevator, they find a Chrome Bit (time 23:11).
On the mine tracks along the northeastern stairway, the party finds a Silver Ore (time 25:17).
They continue up to floor B2F (time 25:25). They arrive in the eastern part of the floor.
The first path to the north leads to a catwalk shaped like a reverse L. In the northeast, they find a Ruby Bracelet (time 26:14). This increases Strength by 50.
Continuing west, they find a lightning deposit. The path to the south leads to the bridge Noctis was knocked off of.
In front of a fan to the west, they find a Gold Ore (time 27:59).
On the grated flooring in the northwest, they find Iron Shavings (time 28:57).
The northwest pathway leads to a large, open cavern (time 29:16). Safe to say this is the boss's lair.
Climbing the first catwalk, they find an Emerald Bracelet (time 30:18). This increases Strength by 60.
After descending a couple of ladders, the boss battle against the Aramusha begins (time 31:31). At Level 52, he is clearly the biggest threat in this place. He is weak to one-handed swords, daggers, thunder, and light, but he is resistant to fire. He is also susceptible to poison. He is backed up by a horde of Level 7 Goblins. Once the Aramusha is down, the party can seek out the royal tomb.
From the base of the second ladder they descended, they can go northwest and find a narrow space to squeeze through (time 35:58). This leads to a semi-hidden area.
In the north of the area, they find another locked door (time 36:44). Such a pity.
