Final Reality is a 3D benchmarking software released in May 1997, co-developed by Remedy Entertainment and VNU European Labs. Featuring a remade city scene of Future Crew's 1993 MS-DOS demo "Second Reality", it was made to benchmark 3D accelerator cards of the time, such as Nvidia's NV1 and later Riva 128, 3DFX's Voodoo 1, ATI's Rage 1 and Matrox's Mystique. It uses an early version of Remedy's MAX-FX engine, featuring impressive visuals for its time, including effects such as texture filtering and mapping, depth fog, specular goraud, and alpha blending. The engine was later used in Max Payne and the PC version of its sequel.

It was one of the first DirectX benchmarking softwares ever released and served as a precursor to Futuremark's 3DMark series, whose team also came from the team at Remedy that worked on Final Reality. It sold around 5 million copies, having given Remedy enough funds to continue developing Max Payne, after an initial funding from 3D Realms in the early stages of development.

A Max Payne billboard can be seen in the City scene, while the game was in production since late 1996. It was a teaser that Remedy made to the fans.
