Join us as we delve into the abyss of this captivating Lovecraftian horror adventure game, developed by Infogrames and released in 1995. Prisoner of Ice serves as the sequel to Shadow of the Comet and initially launched for PC and Mac, surprisingly two years later for PlayStation and Sega Saturn but only in Japan.
Set in the tense period preceding WWII, our protagonist, Lieutenant Ryan, finds himself aboard the H.M.S. Victoria, a British submarine trapped in the Antarctic ice. Having just completed a daring rescue mission they now have on board a mysterious secret cargo and a Norwegian anthropologist, who having survived a secret German base in the Antarctic. From this point thing get even stranger, hopefully Ryan can... keep frosty.
