The game was already playing fast and loose with its mechanics and world-building, but for me it gets weirdest in its story. I grew up as a shy kid who didn't spend a lot of time around others, so I know what it's like to feel withdrawn and lonely. However, though I think enough is seen to say Colin probably had similar feelings, I don't find the idea that he'd be so damaged and desperate for attention or affection he would resort to what the game shows. Not when it shows him with parents that care about him. If that element was gone, it might be more palatable, but the premise is on shaky ground and makes for a weak story.
