This is the first paralogue in Fire Emblem Engage, these are optional, but you do get good rewards from them, sometimes you get a new ally. In this case, Alear and her forces enter Tea-Field Village, an island in Firene, where they find a boy named Jean and his family, who run a clinic, and they are under attack by the Corrupted.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

I take on the first paralogue in the game, and in this one, we must protect the residents of Tea-Field Village from the Corrupted, and they are found near the house on the northern part of the map. I equipped Celica's Emblem Ring to Alear for this one to see how that works, while not the best Emblem to equip, Alear is locked to swords, and this does allow her to use ranged attacks.
The main objective for this battle is to defeat every enemy on the map, and there is one unit you can talk to, if you have Alear talk to Jean, you can recruit him to your side, he and his father are the ones that can heal allies if they take damage.
Going over items you can receive, there are two houses you can get items, the western one has a Defense Tonic, these give the unit 2 Defense for the duration of the battle, and the western house has an Energy Drop, this permanently increases a unit's Strength by 2. Some enemies drop items, an Axe Fighter will drop a Poleaxe, this is an axe that deals bonus damage against Cavalry units, a Mage and a Lance Fighter drop 1000G, and your reward is based on how many villagers you have saved, and at the time of typing up this description, the Fire Emblem Wiki and many other sources I use don't have much data on how many villagers saved, the rewards are Surge, a tome that can only be used at close range, and Pure Water, which increases a unit's Resistance by 7 and the effect decreases by 1 for each turn.
For completing this paralogue, the boss is an Archer with a Steel Bow, we even recruit a new ally, in order to recruit Jean, you either need to talk to him with Alear or he survives this battle. Jean is a Martial Monk, a Qi Adept unit, and for stats, he has Dexterity and Resistance, he starts at Level 1, so it will take him time to catch up with your other units, but at least he is a healer, making it easier for him to level up. Jean has good growth rates in HP and Speed, his Personal Ability is Expertise, this increases his stat growths when he levels up. For good Emblems to give him, the upcoming battle this chapter does give you an Emblem that works very well with Jean, and it allows him to level up much quicker to allow him to catch up with your other units. At least we get a second healer, but he isn't that good as a damage dealer, as he uses arts to fight, they are mostly useful for inflicting break onto bows and tomes.
For supports, Jean can support with Clanne, Céline, and Chloé out of all the units we have so far, and I do some activites and check some support conversations at the Somniel before starting the next chapter battle.
