Byleth and her class check out Jeritza's room, where Manuela is found to have been critically injured, and there is a secret passageway which could be where Flayn is held captive. It is time to take on the Death Knight, and the good thing about the Golden Deer route is we have a certain magic user who is capable of taking out the Death Knight in one attack, but do we defeat the Death Knight? There are a lot of warp tiles and traps in the underground passageway.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

Last part, I recruited my first two out of house students, and I have read about Ingrid being better out of house than on the Blue Lions route, and Petra can be recruited as a Thief, so she has an easy time opening doors and chests without the need of a Key. Technically, Sylvain was the first out of house student, but that doesn't count because he is a free recruit for female Byleth.
Then for the mission, we find Manuela in Jeritza's room, where she had been attacked, and we find a secret passageway leading to an underground chamber, which is where Flayn could be held captive, and we encounter the Death Knight there, your house leader will not be available for this mission.
You don't have to fight the Death Knight in order to win, so what you have to do is to defeat every enemy on this map, and there are a lot of warp panels which can warp to another part of the map that would be otherwise inaccessible.
Unless you have some Chest Keys and Door Keys to spare, some of the enemies have Door Keys, I recommend having a unit in the Thief class, and on the Golden Deer route, Ignatz has the easiest time going into the Thief class if you worked on his Sword skills, otherwise you can promote Byleth into a Thief to open doors without the need of a key, or if you have recruited Ashe, he can open doors and chests without the need of a key or being in the Thief class thanks to his Lockpick ability.
I recommend splitting up your units, have at least three units take the warp panel at the start, I recommend having an Archer, a Healer, and one of your more powerful units take the east side, if you have Shamir recruited, she is a good unit to bring with you for this map.
This map has some Levers, which you can use to activate the warp tiles, and some of them lead to chests, in one of them is the March Ring, which increases movement when equipped, and another chest has a Levin Sword, which is a sword that uses the Magic stat, and it has a 1-2 range, but when forged, it will have a 1-3 range, making it good for dealing magic damage on defensive opponents.
After getting past the Flame Emperor Soldiers, which can be tough enemies, as they are in different classes, like Mage, Archer, Myrmidon, Soldier, Cavalier, and many other classes, some of them have Battalions called Reaper Infantry, and they can use Onslaught, and that Battalion is equipped to enemies affiliated with the Death Knight.
The Death Knight is a very tough opponent, he has the Scythe of Sariel, giving him a higher crit chance, and he has Counterattack, allowing him to counter any attacks, even ranged attacks like bow or magic attacks. The Death Knight is not required to defeat, because if you defeat all other enemies, the missions ends. If you can defeat the Death Knight, you can get a Dark Seal, and you will need two of them if you want to promote your units to a Dark Mage, and then into Dark Bishop. If you have Lysithea at B Rank in Reason, she learns Dark Spikes Τ, which deals bonus damage against Cavalry units, and there is a chance she can possibly take out the Death Knight in one shot, so this is good if you are doing the Golden Deer, on other routes, if you have Sylvain, he can use Knightkneeler with the Lance of Ruin to take out the Death Knight.
After either defeating the Death Knight or every other enemy, the mysterious masked being, who is then revealed to be known as the Flame Emperor, appears. Then we go through a bit of dialogue with Seteth, where we learn that Jeritza could be the Death Knight's true identity, and Flayn wants to be part of Byleth's class, giving us a new team member.
