Fire Emblem: Three Houses Playthrough 18 (Golden Deer): Fishing Competition
1Flayn has been rescued, and she is now part of Byleth's class. Our next even is the Battle of the Eagle and Lion, which is a mock battle between all three houses, but before that mock battle, a fishing tournament is held and some of the students are participating, so there will be a lot of fishing before the big battle at the end of the month.

We have rescued Flayn from the underground chamber, and we suspect that the Death Knight could really be Jeritza. At the end of the month, there will be a mock battle between the three houses, much like in Chapter 1, but it will be a bigger battle, and it will take place on Gronder Field.
There was one other student we rescued named Monica, who was thought to have gone missing before the graduation, and she was from the Black Eagles class, she will be with Edelgard at the Training Grounds, and by the way, she can't be recruited, not even on Black Eagles. Some people, like Hilda, will comment about Monica's personality despite being captured, even the Gatekeeper comments on that.
Time for the main quest, and it is a fishing tournament hosted by Flayn. Talk to Shamir to accept the quest, and some people are participating, Byleth has to compete with Ashe, Ignatz, Ingrid, Raphael, Caspar, Petra, and Catherine on who can catch the biggest fish. You get 50 bait to catch as many fish as you can, and if you beat the others, you get some rewards, like a Vulnerary and some weapons. You have to catch a Teutates Herring, and you have to talk to Flayn after catching it, and that will use up all of your tournament bait, so make sure you catch a 5 Star fish and talk to the other participants to get rewards.
Some units have different quotes depending on the route or after taking part in the fishing tournament, and even though the video audio went strange while talking to Marianne, she does not have different quotes, so if you checked out my video of Chapter 7 on the Blue Lions route, her dialogue isn't any different, and I also forgot to talk to Seteth and the others on the 2nd floor before the fishing tournament, but he does have different quotes before taking part in the fishing tournament. Claude does have different quotes after accepting the quest from Shamir, while Felix and Dedue have different quotes after completing the fishing tournament quest.
Next up are the sidequests, the first one is from a female student at the Cathedral, she will give you a Heartfelt Love Letter, give it to Alois, he will be at the Fishing Pond, and once you deliver the letter, you have completed the quest.
There are two battle quests, one is from a female Soldier a the Knight's Hall, and another is from a male Soldier near the Marketplace, and starting with this chapter, four new paralogues are available, and you will need to have Sylvain, Dorothea, Ingrid, and Lorenz recruited for each of those paralogues, even though Shamir does have a paralogue this chapter which is shared with Alois, you don't recruit Alois until much later in the game.
Next up is lost items, and Flayn did have her lost item last chapter, so we can return it to her this chapter, and here are the units that have lost items this chapter.

I could go over Flayn has a unit, as she is now part of Byleth's class. Flayn is recruited as a Priest, and she has strengths in Lance and Faith, and she has a Budding Talent in Reason, but she has weaknesses in Heavy Armor and Cavalry, the weakness in Riding does make it harder for her to go into Holy Knight. She has good stat growths in Magic, Resistance, Dexterity, and Charm, and for Faith spells, Flayn starts with Restore, and she can learn Rescue at B Rank in Faith, which warps an ally in range to a space adjacent to Flayn, and at A Rank, she can learn Fortify, which heals all units within range. For Reason spells, she starts with Wind and Fire, at C Rank, she learns Cutting Gale, and she learn Excalibur at A Rank. When you unlock her Budding Talent in Reason, she learns Seal Magic, which causes foes to suffer -6 Magic for 1 turn of combat. For classes, she can be promoted into a Mage to get Fiendish Blow, and you can make her a Pegasus Knight to get Darting Blow, and if you get her Lance to A Rank, she learns Frozen Lance, which uses Flayn's Magic stat for damage and adds Dexterity to Might. Her good Magic and Res stats make Flayn good at taking magic hits and dealing a lot of damage against opponents with low Res. Her Personal Ability is Lily's Poise, which reduces the damage adjacent allies take by 3, for good classes, Priest and Mage are good classes, and I have read that Flayn is really good as the DLC class Dark Flyer, which is a Flying class that uses magic attacks.
