This is the final world out of all 15 worlds in the game, and we get to ride magic carpets through Rainbow Ride. This course has a bunch of tricks, while riding the carpets across the rainbow is the main thing of Rainbow Ride, there are a lot of paths to take.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

Time for the final world in Super Mario 64, but before we enter, there is a secret course called Wing Mario Over the Rainbow, which is accessed on the left of Tick Tock Clock. This is a Red Coin course where you have to use the Wing Cap and the cannon to access many platforms, and you will need to talk to the Bob-omb Buddy to use the cannon. If you fall off the course, you will be dropped into the lake outside the castle.
Now for the final world, it is Rainbow Ride, the first mission is Cruiser Crossing the Rainbow, and the mechanic is the magic carpets that move along the rainbow, and at the start is a flame thrower, which you will have to watch out for. Then the four spinning platforms, and there is a Lakitu which you can defeat for coins, then you have to take the magic carpet on the right, and at the end, go right and it will take you through the spinning platform, and the platform acts as a flame thrower, then you have to jump over platforms and Donut Blocks, which will go down if you step on them for a while, and board the ship, and on the bow is a Power Star. That ship appeared in the Rainbow Cruise stage in Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Rainbow Cruise is the Japanese name for Rainbow Ride, and in the European version of Melee and Brawl, the stage was called Rainbow Ride, and the music that plays on Rainbow Ride is remixed for the stage in the Smash Bros. series.
The second mission is The Big House in the Sky, take the left path instead after taking the magic carpet after the spinning platforms. The carpet passes through platforms, and it passes through the manor twice, watch out for the flame thrower, and once the carpet reaches the rooftop, grab the Star to complete this mission.
Coin Amassed in a Maze is the Red Coin mission, and there is an alternative way, you can long-jump to the pole from the starting platform, and from the spinning platforms is a maze with all 8 Red Coins, and if you activate the Blue Coin Switch, wall-jump to the top and the Blue Coins lead to a Bob-omb Buddy, you will need the cannon the ship for a later mission. When you have collected all the Red Coins in the maze, you can get the Power Star.
Swingin' in the Breeze takes place in an obstacle course that is accessed after long-jumping to the pole, and there are a bunch of tilting platforms and swinging platforms, and a bunch of Donut Blocks, and dodging flame throwers. Take the moving platform and go up the stairs that lead to a swinging platform that leads to the Power Star.
Next is Tricky Triangles!, it is the same path as the fourth star, instead go ahead and there is a ramp ahead, and at the end is a Purple Switch that allows you to cross the triangle platforms, and at the end is a Power Star, but you will need to do this quick as the time limit is short, and it is a tricky mission.
Somewhere Over the Rainbow is the same path as the first mission, the difference is you have to take the cannon to the platform, and there is a rainbow ring which does indicate where you have to shoot, and watch out for that Chuckya on the platform, because that thing can throw you off, break the ! Block to get the Power Star.
Time for maybe one of the more frustrating 100 Coin Stars, alongside Tick Tock Clock, and the reason is if you miss some of the Blue Coins, it is not easy going through most of this course for the coins, and you will need to be good at wall jumps to get the Blue Coins, I would even say that Rainbow Ride has one of the harder 100 Coin Stars because of the carpet mechanics, and how much you have to explore the course to collect every coin.
