One of the most important things you have to do in FireFall is gathering resources. You can get resources for killing enemies, but the big source is using a Thumper and extract minerals.
First you need to find a good location (good location contain a good mineral and in a high density) and then call a Thumper. During that time you will fighting hordes of enemies and all you have to do is hold the line until the Thumper finish its job.
