Take one part old-school Zelda, mix in some Rogue and procedurally generated dungeons, give it a creepy religious/psychotic bent and you get Isaac.

The one thing I think this game could really benefit from is controller support, and wouldn't you know it, BoI: Rebirth is on the way to do just that. And from what I gather it's essentially the original game but with added stuff, no longer a Flash port, and of course proper controller support. Only being able to attack in 4 directions with a very narrow shot definitely makes this one tough, especially because the enemies don't just move in 4 directions.

I might continue this one with the Steam Controller, but I've a feeling I'm probably going to hold off for Rebirth to get proper full-screen goodness. We'll see. But I do like it, make no mistake.
