First Impressions On: Sniper Elite V2

On this episode of First Impressions, I take a look a the 2012 remake of the 2005 tactical stealth/sniper game set in WW2, Sniper Elite V2. In the game you are an American OSS Sniper deployed to Berlin during the last days of the fall of Nazi Germany, in order to secure German scientists involved with the creation of the V2 rockets. The actual game-play revolves around sneaking around areas of ruined Berlin to take out various Nazi and Soviet officers, both to prevent the Russians from obtaining the scientists and their work, and to retrieve intel from the Nazi's on the locations of the scientists. You spend much of the time patiently crawling around to set up traps (something I'm evidently terrible at) and getting into an ideal sniping position. One of the games neater little features in a bullet cam that follows your better shots, culminating in a brutal display of what exactly your bullet is doing to your targets anatomy. Overall, it's an interesting game that asks you to be stealthy but doesn't overly penalize you for failing to do so.
