First Impressions On: The Walking Dead Ep.1 A New Day

On this episode of First Impressions, I take a look at Telltale's new episodic adventure game based of the graphic novel by Robert Kirkman. In the game you take control of new Walking Dead protagonist Lee Everett, a man being transported to prison when the outbreak of dead folk hits the boiling point. Gameplay wise The Walking Dead plays quite a bit differently than previous Telltale games, mixing a bit of the more action oriented gameplay and the adventure game trappings of previous Telltale games with a new, more traditional game style that allows you to freely walk around and explore the environments. The Walking Dead also runs quite a bit smoother than other recent Telltale games, with the framerate rarely becoming inexplicably choppy. Over all the first episode of five is an exciting introduction into another slice of the Walking Dead's world, and I look forward to the next episode. Available as a all inclusive pack on Steam, as well as either the pack or individually on PSN, and individually on XBLA.
