Tiny Core is one of the smallest Linux LiveCD distributions equipped with a graphical environment. The system takes about 22MB, it uses, among others light flwm window manager, Busybox command line, aterm terminal and FLTK graphics packages. Tiny Core uses tgz and tce packages allowing you to extend the system's capabilities by installing them. Specific distribution intended for advanced users who want to have full control over the system and applications.

Minimum hardware requirements :
· 486DX processor
· 32 MB RAM

Tiny Core Linux (The Core Project) is not a turnkey desktop distribution but instead just the Core Linux from which it is quite easy to add what you want.

Tiny Core Linux is available in three different versions. Because they are small, we have zipped all three releases into one zip file.

Core is the base system that only provides a command-line interface and is recommended for experienced users. Command-line tools are provided to add extensions to create a system with a graphical desktop environment. Ideal for servers, appliances, and custom desktops.

TinyCore is recommended for new users with a wired network connection. It includes the base Core system plus X/GUI extensions for a dynamic FLTK/FLWM graphical desktop environment.

CorePlus is an installation image and not the distribution. New users who only have access to a wireless network or use a non-US keyboard layout are recommended. It includes the base Core System and installation tools to provide the setup with the following options: Choice of 7 Window Managers, Wireless support via many firmware files and ndiswrapper, non-US keyboard support, and a remastering tool.
