Miller stated that GNOME 42 brought many improvements; he stated that many applications have been ported to GTK 4 for improved style and performance. Stating that two new applications are coming in GNOME 42, Miller; he said these are the text editor and console. Miller stated that those who use NVIDIA's proprietary graphics driver will now use the Wayland protocol by default in desktop sessions;stated that this allows to take advantage of hardware acceleration when using the modern desktop renderer. Starting from Fedora Server 36, Cockpit, Miller said that a module is provided for the provision and continuous management of NFS and Samba shares; He noted that Podman 4.0 will make its full rollout on Fedora Linux 36 for the first time. Noting that the core programming language and system library packages have been updated, including Ruby 3.1, Golang 1.18 and PHP 8.1, Miller said; He said Fedora 36 also ships with a new version of Ansible management software.
