First Run in the Cloudneo, On's Subscription Running Shoe
15Braved the rainy forecast and got some laps in for a first run with On's Cloudneo, the first shoe in their Cyclon subscription program. The Cloudneo is 100% made of recyclable materials, specifically Pebax, a castor bean based material.
On's Cyclon program is their way to get people to embrace recycling and sustainability. To get the Cloudneo running shoe, you must commit to a six month period at your territory's native cost, be it US dollars, British Pounds, the Euro, or even Thai Baht. The average cost per month comes out to approximately 30 US dollars. You do not own the shoes, but rather borrow them and send them back at the six month mark for a new pair. If you are heavy use runner, you can send the Cloudneo shoes as early as 90 days from the start of the subscription.
The Cloudneo themselves are made in line with most of On's running shoes. It features a 9mm drop, weighs in at 9.7 US ounces for a size US men's 10, contains a full speedboard, and uses several Cloudtec pockets.
