Area 51 is a light gun arcade game released by Atari Games in 1995. It takes its name from the military facility. The plot of the game involves the player taking part in a Strategic Tactical Advanced Alien Response (STAAR) military incursion to prevent aliens, known as the Kronn, and alien-created zombies from taking over the Area 51 military facility.

Area 51 takes you to the secret Nevada base where it's ultimately up to you to save not only the base, but the rest of the world from an alien invasion. Grab your controller or light gun and fight your way through exciting level after level, riding the earth of whatever scum may cross your path. Two player mode is supported, so you and a friend can both experience the thrill of blasting your way through the base. Everything from mutated soldiers on the base, to the biggest, nastiest, meanest looking monsters that have ever walked the earth, or any other planet, for that matter.
