..flies Raptor: Call of the Shadows (New Edition) - flying retro fighter jet game with great music
I passionately played the original 1994 game as a kid but here we are now with an apparently enhanced re-mastered version of the game which offers a few differences I think:
- game is updated and upgraded from the original 256-color VGA graphics to a clear video image (looks like an HQ emulation filter tho);
- sound and music is more clear, pronounced and re-worked/ re-mastered it seems or sounds like hehe;
- game difficulty seems to be more ramped up in the beginning and some parts of the game it looks like.
So there we have it folks. This is a very fine game with some of the best memorable music ever to be found in a video game. The music tracks which are actually very repetitive are miraculously very tolerable and fantastic. A true contradiction of genius lol. The game is pretty fun to play but offers a pretty rough start until you accumulate more cash for better weapons to deal with the pretty tough enemies.
An almost perfect game minus the difficult starting out deal which makes it a big unfun because you are mostly running away from enemies to protect your (very fragile) plane health and survive the level, without being able to engage so much the said enemies due to fear of absorbing too much damage, dying and having to restart the level again. However once you get rich off finishing the levels you can go buy and be racked up on the latest and most fierce weapons; and then you can go back and replay the game and wreak havoc as revenge for what they did to you when you were once just a newly hatched spring chicken ..hehe. Lastly the game was an 11/10 gem experience for me tho - very nice!!
