[Confession time: this level was not a 20-minute cakewalk, to beat the bikers took 3 attempts and the boss battle took a whooping total of 11 - phew! Through much grinding and many tried trial-and-error, the strategy displayed here how to deal with them seemingly worked :D]

I have heard of the original game for the Super Nintendo SNES in 1994 and although I didn't get to play it (yet), for sure I plan to check it out someday. But here with this title, apparently the sequel gets a big upgrade with anime-style graphics narration presentations and more modern gameplay.

I am just not sure how to begin to judge this game. In the beginning parts and getting past to watching the anime intro I thought the game to be very foolish and made me feel like a fool for playing such a thing, because it mainly looks like it was made for 8-11 year olds which just started to play a videogame :/ Me being almost 42 now, I'm trying to keep an open mind about it but it was hard, as I felt I was being slapped in the face with foolishness lol

However, past the 2nd level I began to like the game more and more and thought about it even when I wasn't playing, which is a good thing. That was because the music, atmosphere and the game world as well as each level which is different than the previous, transports you to a different time and place. So I felt as I was taking a vacation while playing this game, all of which is a good thing.

The game is not without its problems however. Choosing 'medium' difficulty resulted in a mix bag of gameplay. For the most part (I would say 65%) the game felt rather easy to get through and some parts ridiculously easy. This was especially true of the very bizarre (but fun and funny) Shaq transformations into Shaq Diesel and Shaqctus (what?! lol), where you just pummel your opponents effortlessly with these provided power-ups. But then come some very hard parts, such as dealing with the bikers who constantly knock you down from different directions and it takes a while to learn how to deal with them. Then also there were some boss fights which were very hard, especially the poodle-throwing woman (sorry I forget her name right now, was it Diamond maybe? Maybe lol), and the fire-spewing tequila drinking Irishman boss (forgot his name too right now lool). I was relived however that the final boss wasn't hard to beat such as the ones previously mentioned and I could finally finish the game, phew! Also to be mentioned is that I noticed that once many enemies are on the screen, the game gets a bit sluggish and is possible for Shaq to stop responding to your input commands - this isn't good at all, since you are getting pummeled already from all directions, for your character to stop responding briefly - all while to keep incurring damage from the incoming enemy attacks; this bug should not exist! And especially in this day and age with this game.

The game is also rather short maybe (not that many stages) and once you learn how to deal with certain enemies through gameplay experience, it might be easier to get through it but offers limited replay value as it makes little sense to play it again once you've seen everything. Perhaps if you are super bored and have no other games at all, you might try to play this thing on hard, but why bother? Because taking a walk in the park would be more productive and healthy maybe lol

Lastly the game does offer a memorable experience with some very nicely designed stages, music and multimedia presentations of different locations such as Los Angeles, Miami, the tropics and some other places. So rating-wise, the game was a 8/10 gems experience for me (barely) and that is if you can stomach the (cheesy?) intro and get past the first two levels, and then it becomes a more decent game I think :) By the end of the game I ended up being pretty well entertained I think, which is a good thing. Well see ya'll in the next one, toodles :o)
