Flight of the Bremen 2024 | Part 3: Greenland to Canada | Group Flight | SimFX
We depart Greenland's Narsarsuaq Airport BGBW in the BAe 146 and fly to Goose Bay in Canada CYYR.
Tonight we focus on the Bremen flight along with the challenges the crew faced during the flight with weather.
In 1928, weather forecasting was primitive by today's standards. Pilots often relied on basic meteorological data from ground stations, ships, or even visual observations. Long-range forecasts were not reliable, and many aviators had to depend on their judgment and reports from intermediate stops or ships at sea.
Route: BGBW - CYYR* ( * = full stop landings)
Recommended aircraft: BAe 146
