Flycast Libretro core - Order Independent Transparency! Space Channel 5 With/Without OIT
See here the massive difference Order Independent Transparency makes to the graphics accuracy of your average Dreamcast game. In this case, we compare Space Channel 5 Part 2 with the OIT GL4.5 renderer vs. the old GLES2-compatible renderer.
Flycast OIT will be a new core coming soon that will require a GPU that supports OpenGL 4.5. It will have higher system and GPU requirements but in return, you will get a massive increase in rendering accuracy as seen here.
This is the first near-feature complete renderer for the Dreamcast's GPU so far that is open-source. All previous efforts (Demul/Redream) have all been closed source. This wonderful effort is brought to you by flyinghead, I merely backported it to libretro (although this was quite some ordeal as well) and he was patient enough to guide me through most of the teething issues during the process.
