Flycast core improvements - working fog table
Thanks to the great improvements recently by flyinghead on an experimental fork, the Flycast core has seen many graphics accuracy improvements.
One of the biggest omissions so far in the GL renderer was lack of fog table support. Yoshimitsu's stage in Soul Calibur is a good example where this hardware feature is being put to effect.
This video demonstrates the newly added fog table support. You can also see working shadows now, another improvement on which I will dedicate a separate video to - it's another big new graphics feature that flyinghead added as part of implementing volume modifier shadows.
Many other Dreamcast games also heavily relied on fogging, such as Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Illbleed, certain stages in Dead or Alive 2 and Virtua Fighter 3tb, etc.
