Patrols have been maintained over Mingaladon all week, effectively cancelling any element of surprise the enemy may otherwise have obtained. Today's reconnoitre sorties have already resulted in a big sweep of Japanese fighters being discouraged by a trio of P-40s and a flight of six Hurricanes.
Now, a pair of Blenheims of 45 Squadron are returning from a raid at Moulmein and reports of more Japs! A dozen bombers covered by at least three fighter units are flying towards Mingaladon. The AVG are already climbing hard to undertake their favored diving attack on the incoming formations.
Once the Blenheims are clear off the runway, all serviceable Hurricanes of 17 and 135 Squadrons are to scramble and rendezvous with the AVG to engage the enemy.
