The Spring Event, already well known from last year, is coming back. Starting March 28th until April 19th 2018 it is important to collect lanterns. These can be found at trees around the city, appearing at the start of the event. Click on a tree and receive between one and ten lanterns per tree. New trees appear with the completion of each quest and after receiving a reward.
Hanako, the quest giver, grants some lanterns every day. Logging in every day is rewarded that way.
The quest line is really tough then. 62 quests in only 3 weeks is an average of nearly 3 quests per day. As some quests require a lot of time you will have to keep up. Otherwise it would be too much.
Once again, there will be two parallel quest lines. One that presents quests without any timed delay and one that has 40 quests coming daily with a reward of 15 lanterns plus two portraits after quest 40. The second one exists, but is visible only after having completed the main quest line providing another 22 quests with a reward of 10 lanterns each plus the final reward Gong of Wisdom level 1.
The quests often offer alternatives to conquering sectors or developing a technology. Quest 16 is an exception and requires the control over a province without offering something else instead. As always all quests can be found in the first comment below the video.
You receive rewards by trading your lanterns for chests. There are always three different chests available in gold, silver and bronze for different costs. Most of the time the most expensive chest is the best choice. Opening a chests provides one of the rewards in the chest with the displayed chance.
The cherry garden set is already well known from last year. You also can win these buildings as rewards for th daily challenges. The possibility to upgrade these buildings to level 2 was already reported in my video 'thank you and three other topics' more than a month ago. Daily rotating another of the 5 building kits can be won. With these kits you first have to decide if you want to build a new building or upgrade an existing building. Someone without any building has a simple decision: he will build it. Those who already have the related building should upgrade it instead of building a new one. Space is always a problem and you better have some very good buildings instead of many average buildings.
If someone only needs one or two buildings of the set, it is a possibility to trade lanterns for chests at the related days to complete the set. Instead you also can try to win the missing building as a reward for the daily challenges and then upgrade it with the kit. The kits are only available in this event. So use them wisely.
The number of lanterns is sufficient to receive 5 kits during the event without using diamonds. So you can upgrade an existing set on level 2.
Beside the buildings of the cherry garden set there is a One-Story-Pagoda. The One-Story-Pagoda is not part of the set and it cannot be upgraded.
For every chest opened you receive Cherry Blossoms. These will be traded for a grand price like a wishing well, a shrine, a renovation kit or forge points. The next available grand price is shown.
By the way the upgrade process has been improved. When upgrading the building no longer will be placed in the inventory. Instead the existing building will be upgrading in the current position without interrupting the current production. And on top the building is upgraded to the current age/era. This saves a renovation kit.
The cherry garden set on level 2 is absolutely great. With the Black Tower we already thought that this will not be topped. Bit then the Pillar of Heroes and the Grand Bridge were better again. And the Cherry Garden Set is better than all these. It now is the best building set available in the game. You definitely should not miss it.
