9Despite my nerves, I am so proud I was able to play this piece with the amazing pianist and children's book author, Lettie Crays. I made it through and I know as I travel and continue to connect with people through music, I will gain my confidence and a more powerful musical voice. It's so nice that I am taking so many people along with me on this journey, and spreading a good message about the start and continued impact of community music programs and people coming together from all walks of life to create and experience this gorgeous way of communicating our emotions and ideas. I hope many of you, regardless of age, or other "excuses," will also take up an instrument or pursue a passion which releases your soul from the burdens and stress of everyday life. Happy Sunday and Mother's Day! I owe everything to my mom for these moments and the ones to come, but I let her know that every day.
