Deck Building, Hand Management Card Game

Fort is a deckbuilding board game that evokes the sense of nostalgia that kids had in the 80's and 90's way before there were more than 3 channels on tv. Kids often rode their bikes, played on the streets and also built forts at their local park or yard. Being the most popular kid on the block was super popular and totally a rad thing to be back then.

In Fort, players are building decks of cards by recruiting different friends from the neighbourhood. Each turn, players will be playing a card from their hand and resolving a public and or private action and boosting that action using matching card suits. Other players can also follow their lead and resolve a public action on another player's turn. Unplayed cards are often played into a player's yard ready for potentially another player to recruit on latter turns.

This process of deckbuilding almost feels shared, in a way where your deck will constantly be fluid. It is as if your deck is a community of people ready to contribute to your goal or move on to another kid who may be more popular. Don't be deceived by this games theme however, it evokes the same sort of game experience as advanced strategy card games such as Race For The Galaxy.

If you are a fan of playing cool awesome combos like in Magic: The Gathering then this is a game for you. Who will be the top of the block in your neighbourhood bud?

The Board Game Sanctuary is a family friendly board game channel that aims to introduce the board gaming hobby to new and seasoned players in a light, fun and humourous way.
