One thing I appreciate about the small Wizards and Warriors series is that each one is a separate entity. There are similar play mechanisms between them all (unfortunately, this includes jump lag and poor hit detection!) but each one plays out diffrently.

Ironsword is a far cry from the first game, Visions of Power is a far cry from Iron sword, and Fortress of Fear is again separate from all of them.

It's not the greatest game. It requires a slow, plodding pace and a foreknowledge of where enemies will appear. Most of the bosses are exploitable.

Malkil can be avoided, but if you have 9 lives, you can burn through a few of them and just do him in. The only move that seems unavoidable is to teleport right on top of you. But if it's only -near- you, it's easy to dodge.

Also included is the blockbuster ending to end all endings.
