A slightly controversial subject this one - the community appear to be a little split about whether starting out on 3s is useful. Well, my take is that all people/pilots are different, but for many it could be of great help to grow skills more rapidly than going straight to 4s.
Ultimately it's down to what feels comfortable for you !
