This is another common issue I see with new quad flyers, pointing the camera up high, letting the quad run away with them, and then being unable to fly slowly or land.

Yes, you'll need a certain amount of angle - especially if all you are seeing is grass, but like most things in this game, small incremental changes will net you better gains.
