Frail Old Demon King S17 Pt1 Let's Play Dark Souls 3 Mage Edition
1By this point in the game as a mage Old Demon King is very easy. He has maybe 1 or 2 attacks that can hit you from range which are fairly easy to dodge, and you SHOULD be doing chunks of it's health every cast. In fact, I kinda just stun locked him a majority of this attempt.
If however you been putting points in other stats (like attunement instead of Intelligence) it could be a longer fight. Just remember it's strength is the huge hammer, so stay out of it's range. In a casting contest you should win. Don't even bother blocking though, I don't think my str character could block with like 20 end..much less 9 on a mage. So get that scholar's candlestick out!
Just for the love of your life, don't get near him when he's at very low health, he'll self destruct and in all likelihood kill you instantly. Trust me... I found out the hard way in co-op and died in an embarassing way to go.
