You know what’s difficult? To roll a tiny ball seamlessly through all sorts of difficult challenges, such a lasers, coloured tiles or bigger balls, using your keyboard because the USB-receiver for your gamepad haven’t arrived win the mail :(

However, it only adds another layer of challenge to this amazingly fun ball-rolling game that is Road to Ballhalla! There’s just something incredibly satisfying about successfully maneuvering your small ball across an intricate level of twists and turns while being chased by a bunch of large balls...!

In Road to Ballhalla, you’re a ball and you’re trying to get where every small ball wants to go, Ballhalla. However, in order to get there, you have to overcome a series of incredibly challenging levels laid out by a super douchey game. This all equals to a multitude of deaths in an amazingly atmospheric and colourful world, filled with awesome music which just pushes you to roll forward in hopes of reaching Ballhalla.

I was drawn by Road to Ballhalla because of the amazingly colourful and simplistic graphics, as well as the dry breaking-the-4th-wall humour displayed in the trailer. The game itself lies closely to its art style by the fact that the core mechanic is as simple as rolling, except there’s a lot more depth to it when facing challenges such as lasers, moving coloured tiles, mazes and bigger balls. It all makes it up to an incredibly fun and intense experience where one is sure to die a lot (but it’s okay), not just because of the challenges, but also as a consequence of a douchey game, telling you to go somewhere only to die horribly (in a funny way, like with giant lasers :D ).
