This is the seventh mission of the Derelict campaign for Freespace 2. The corvette that attacked at Luxor Station in our last mission, the Ithaca, has struck again, destroying a science vessel in the Casa Belt, a ring of asteroids orbiting between Altair III and Altair IV. The composition of the belt inhibits long range scans, and intelligence believes the Ithaca is conducting repairs in the shelter of the asteroids. Unfortunately the GVCv Qualmotep remains damaged from its previous engagement and there is no time to wait for additional GTVA assets. An AWACS vessel will obscure the Qualmotep from sensors, and our task is to plant a TAG beacon onto the Ithaca, to enable the Qualmotep to acquire beam lock from long range and avoid a direct firefight. Our objective is to disable and capture the Ithaca, to learn who their employer is. A transport will deploy after the corvette is disabled in order to board and capture it.
