Freespace 2: Lost in the Mist
7This is the entirety of the Lost in the Mist mini-campaign for Freespace 2. The subspace portal in Gamma Draconis is not of Shivan origin, and our scientists believe it could be used as the basis for repairing the jump node to Sol in Delta Serpentis. Despite the danger from the Shivans, Allied Command believes this is worth the risk of keeping the portal intact for study. Scouting beyond it reveals that the far side leads into a dense nebula, possibly the remnants of a supernova. The Aquitaine is ordered to spearhead the security operation to keep the Shivans clear of the artificial node. The 107th Ravens are taking part in an all-squadron reconnaissance effort into the nebula, whose ionized gases interfere with our sensors. Flying as Kappa 3 of the 107th Ravens, we are to patrol our assigned waypoints and report back. Surely nothing could go wrong...
Unlike most other content in this series, this is a blind first play. I never played this campaign when I first picked up Freespace years ago.
