This is the first mission of the Renegade Resurgence campaign for Freespace 2. I had intended to go into Freespace Blue, but I recently heard the news that TopAce, a prolific mod creator and contributor at Hard Light Productions who created this campaign, has sadly passed away. I'm playing his campaigns in his honor. We occupy the role of a rookie pilot assigned to the 53rd Hammerheads, GTD Aquitaine. The GTVA is attempting to establish a research station in the Altair system to study the Ancient civilization in hopes of gleaning secrets to better defend against the Shivans, but pirate attacks have plagued the construction. The Aquitaine and her squadrons are assigned to Aldebaran and Altair to root out the pirates. Our first mission is to escort a civilian Argo transport to the Tevesace installation in orbit of Altair IV.
