This is the twelfth mission of the Luyten Civil War campaign for Freespace 2. I had intended to go into Freespace Blue, but I recently heard the news that TopAce, a prolific mod creator and contributor at Hard Light Productions who created this campaign, has sadly passed away. I'm playing his campaigns in his honor. We occupy the role of a veteran pilot assigned to the GTD Washington based in Laramis. The prisoners, crew of the Aeolus cruiser that surrendered to us last mission, have escaped aboard the Washington and are making their way to the hangar! Our orders are to scramble and destroy any unauthorized launch. The sacrifice of the GTCa Bulwark destroyed the stealth system of the Albertine, and the time to strike is near. Admiral Lansen has arranged a resupply convoy to bring repair parts. It cannot be allowed to reach its destination. The entire convoy must be destroyed. We have a new tool to do this: Remote detonated drones, essentially flying bombs stuffed in an escape pod shell. Our task is to remote-pilot these devices into the convoy and destroy it. Beta and Gamma wings are on standby to mop up anything the drones miss. We will control the flying bombs directly from the cockpit of a Stentor class fighter. After expending all eight of the devices, our reinforcements will arrive and we will engage and destroy the remainder. There is a medical ship traveling with the convoy that must not b e destroyed, so we have to be careful where we deploy the devices.
