Freespace of Legends - Vishnan Gameplay
The mission is getting more polished in terms of balancing. The Atreus received another buff and the events that can trigger are adjusted to that. One of the most important changes was the TEV AWACS that shows up in the midgame and calls in a big reinforcement fleet if not caught in time. The clue is that it does not show up on sensors. The Solaris will warn you about its arrival but nothing more. Guide-assisted weapons won't be helpful here.
In the meantime I added a bit more variety in case the player chooses different ships. Most ships will change the way the mission is played and they will affect the fleet's bonus loadout a bit. For example, if you choose to play one of the for Vishnan ships, you won't be able to use a support ship, but to make up for the lack of secondary firepower in the long run, you get a Guardian Angel - a Vishnan Cruiser that follows the player in the distance and can be advised to destroy capital targets. Pressing 1 will make it follow the player again, while pressing 2 will make it fly back to the fleet, telling it to defend. The Guardian Angel is quite vulnerable but can deal huge amounts of damage with its beams.
For the sake of testing the auto-chess gameplay, I also installed a Spectator mode, which is accessed by choosing the Spacesuit as player ship. It will place you above the battlefield, facing down, so you can see everything from a bird's eye perspective. I recommend using the time modifiers in this case.
The endgame scenario was changed to make the Atreus and her escorts make a full charge on the Solaris, which is what happens nicely at the end of the video. It prevents the mission from going on for longer than 30 minutes, which is what I think of a good time cut. The Sathanas and the Vishnu will still show up, but only as background fluff.
Work still in progress. Going to add a few more events, random events and sound clips.
