0Frogmonster is a new released absolute treasure Metroidvania FPS. You play as a frog collecting a wide variety of guns, eating bugs to gain skills, and movement upgrades to help you traverse the map. It's a very charming game with pretty tight gameplay. The way this game looks, feels, and sounds is surreal. I love the cool visual style and grungy swamp aesthetic, but I was surprised by how much I like the story. I liked all the NPCs, they feel really genuine and funny. Frogmonster is incredibly addicting. The boss felt memorable and provided a challenge. The mechanics are surprisingly deep and new interactions between spells, bugs, and guns always felt awesome. The voxel art and music for each zone wrap this game with a great nostalgia bow on top.
