From Haunted Streets to Supernatural Enemies | Ghostwire Tokyo Review
One of the highlights of E3 2019, Ghostwire Tokyo was a game that garnered interest with its supernatural-themed trailer. Having released early into 2022, is it a game that was worth the wait or worth your time? This is honest review from someone that couldn't wait to play it.
You play as Akito, who after being involved in a motorcycle accident, becomes possessed and witnesses a fog take over the city--devouring the bodies of anyone caught in it. A broadcast plays on the mega-displays of downtown buildings by our villain, who wants to use souls of the bodies he's gathered for a ritual. We survived the fog due to the spirit that inhabits our body, who wants to take on the enemy, which he needs our character for now that no one else remains.
Its an open world game, that--although using an expected formula--has appeal by virtue of its setting and themes. The gameplay has modern mechanics that looks impressive; however, it's not without its faults. The graphics and performance on PC/Playstation follow suit with the mixed tone.
Collectively, do all these points make for a game that's worth your time now or perhaps when there is a sale? These are all subjects addressed in the video.
