In this video, Frontier aka Elite 2, released in 1993 for the Atari ST by Gametek
Sequel of the famous Elite written for the BBC Acorn in 1984, Frontier takes place in the same universe and expand it, while improving everything else, from gravity to exploration and many other original game's mechanics, thanks to the much more powerful Motorola 68000 in comparison to the power of the BBC or the C64. There is almost no plot in Frontier, just a little explanation of the factions and what's going on in its universe, players explore space while trading legally or illegally, carrying out missions for the military, ferrying passengers from system to system, engaging in piracy or any combination of the above.
This is one of the few games that I've never played and it's a shame because this game is immense and thanks to its open world-style it have a great playability. The 3D graphics are fast and enough detailed, the physics are well represented and the sound is great.
Here you'll find full intro showing how well the graphic engine works and an attempt to do something without instructions, ended up with unauthorized take off and destruction of my ship.
