In this video, Sir Fred - The Legend or simply Fred, released in 1990 for the Atari ST by Ubi Soft.
The description written on the back of the game's box says that Fred is a noble and brave knight who lived in the Middle Ages. Graced with strenght and bravery he won the heart of a beautiful damsel and the wrath of Ultimor, an evil dwarf. Transformed in a vulnerable gnome, Sir Fred has but one goal, break the spell, regain his strenght and face Ultimor. Glossing over the fact that we, dwarves, don't use magic, we can safely say that Ultimor is a gnome and he is aided by countless of deadly minions that Fred has to face to regain his former form. Graphically the game is superb with well animated sprites and a good choice of colors. To avoid enemies and add play tactics Fred can walk on 3 different levels/layers while moving across the screen but unfortunately the scrolling is disappointing. The music and sound fx are digitized and are amazing. The playability is good but controls and sprite collisions make the game a nightmare to play, raising the difficulty and ruining the game's experience.
