π FS19 The Edge - Survival Map | πΎ First Look and Map Discussion π
0Welcome to this first look map tour of a brand new FS19 mod map with a survival element all coded and scripted in and with a slight sci-fi theme and throwback. The map is called The Edge and sees a player put onto another planet to establish a farm to grow the crops needed to feed and grow a colony. The map is a 4x map which you own the entirety of when you start, you then have to get straight to work getting the fields producing crops as every day the colony will consume so much of each fruit type, and as the colony grows each day it'll consume greater and greater amounts of each fruit crop.
Join me as I take a first look at the map and also have some discussion on the pros and cons of a map like this.
The Challenge:
You accepted the job to supply a growing Earth-like colony with food.
Welcome to planet 1TS2H4RD4M3.
The rivers run red with the blood, sweat, and tears, of the failures before you.
All the land is yours. On condition that you provide the colony with food.
Every day you will be notified of the expected population that needs to be fed.
The colony grows over time ... (Starts easy, gets more difficult.)
You will be paid a fee per head up front: 15 [units of currency] per head.
Every morning at 0500 the raw products will be removed from your storages.
You get charged a penalty/refund if you don't have enough.
The scenario is adaptive ... if you cheat it gets impossible.
Every benefit has teeth.
Equipment will be delivered by spaceship from earth. It will cost you ... In fact everything is ridiculously expensive.
There is no leasing of equipment. The dealer is back on Earth and the transport costs are prohibitive.
You have 3 days grace from new start.
The Colony consumes:
Wheat(1 lpppd), Barley(1 lpppd), Oats(1 lpppd), Corn(2 lpppd), Sunflowers(0.25 lpppd), Soybean(0.5 lpppd), Sugarbeet(0.5 lpppd), Potato(1 lpppd), Straw(5 lpppd).
[lpppd = liter per person per day].
Requirements:
Latest version of FS 19 (1.7.1)
No DLC required, compatible with all DLC.
