This game was a request from a viewer, and I'm extremely happy to have been introduced to it. I loved the tactics and strategy core of this game. There's a lot more depth to the combat than most tactics type games, but not the insanity of some JRPGs.

I also enjoyed the entire friendship building and pairing up aspect playing so heavily into the combat. The goofiness and adorable interactions are a weirdly heartwarming section to a game about murdering your way through an invading army.

The artwork is adorable, and the guest art at the end of chapters is a great way to have a bunch of artists involved and introduce them to players. The music is great - good use of instrumental and choral versions of themes - I love the variations we get on different stages and difficulty paths. The entire soundtrack is worth a listen.

I do wish the game would tell you what resources you need at trading posts, and how much skills cost outside of the skill menu in combat. And the speed up the tank rolling animation that's unlocked in New Game+ should have been a default feature.

Overall the few minor issues pale in comparison to how good the rest of the game feels and plays. I highly recommend this title to any strategy or RPG fans.
